Hoping you and yours have a great holiday and a wonderful new year! All the best, Mike, Erika, Jackson & Sadie.

Have a safe and happy holiday season! We’ll see you in 2010 with new art and fun.
Go easy on that Eggnog.

They’re on the way… hopefully we haven’t missed anyone. If you’d like one, shoot us an email and I’ll drop one in the mail.
I apologize for the slow down in posts. For those of you that don’t know, I injured my arm at the beginning of June. The injury required surgery and I’ve been working through physical therapy since. The whole experience has been frustration as it’s really slowed down what I’ve been able to accomplish… oh well right.
Anyhow… in keeping my posting some of my illustration favorites, here is another illustration I created for a cookbook. Surprisingly enough, pots and pans are fun to draw.

Why use the post office’s boring change of address cards, when you can create your own.

Illustration for a McGraw-Hill elementary level text book.
Until I free up some time to build a proper area of the site to showcase my illustration work, I thought I’d post some of my favorite illustrations here for your viewing pleasure ;)
The following piece was commissioned by McGraw-Hill and published in an elementary level text book.

From our family to yours… have a healthy and happy holiday season. Thank you for your continued support and look for new murals and t-shirt designs in 2009.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us during our first year in business. Stay tuned for more custom kids murals and t-shirt designs in 2008. Have a happy, healthy and safe holiday season!
When I arrived home the other day, I was pleasantly surprised to find a box on the back porch containing copies of a book I illustrated awhile back called Silly Dog Tricks. It’s always cool to get these boxes - first, for the obvious reason that it’s pretty cool to see my name and work in print… but also because the illustrations are so often submitted independently of the text, and seeing it all come together for the first time in its final package is like an early Christmas present.
The book title accurately describes its content. Silly Dog Tricks is geared for kids, and it gives detailed instructions on how to teach your pup how to perform different stunts such as playing dead, walking on its hind legs, and stealing someone’s wallet out of their back pocket (not sure about that one). It also includes a training clicker and squeaky toy… it’s a pretty cool package.
For my part, I cranked out about 40 full-color illustrations of 4 different dogs in about a month. It was a pretty aggressive schedule, but I muddled through it like everything else in life. My wife was awesome, looking after our son while I spent late nights and weekends getting fur just right. She even went as far as naming each dog and referring to them by name (Abe, Bandit, Midnight and Flapjack) when checking in on my progress and bringing me that next cup of coffee. She’s the best.
Anyhow, if you have a dog and a youngster, definitely check out the book.
